What is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the trade name for a highly purified toxin, Botulism Toxin Type-A made from the C. botulinum bacteria.
When injected into a specific muscle, BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily weakens or paralyzes that muscle.
Who are candidates for BOTOX® Cosmetic?
For cosmetic purposes, the best results are seen in patients whose wrinkles are caused by over-active facial muscles. These are the wrinkles are usually in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and the crow's feet.
Patients look (and sometimes feel) more relaxed and refreshed. For most patients the improvement in appearance lasts 4 to 5 months. The wrinkles then return gradually.
The simple 10-minute procedure consists of a few tiny injections.
Results are typically seen in days and may continue to improve during the first week after treatment (results may vary).
No anesthesia is required but we do numb the area with a cold pack prior to injecting.
We offer BOTOX® Cosmetic during all office hours at both offices.
